Here are some photos from Kevin’s “Start Your Own Cult” workshop at the Sassoon Gallery last summer:

Aspiring cult leaders were guided through a 12-step cult start-up that included developing a cosmic vision, working on your charisma, member management tips and more. Plus a hands-on craft session in writing and designing a Watchtower-style pamphlet for future recruitment.

Earlier this month the Honorable Lord Hurk and I met with artists Valerie Pezeron and The Krah under the railway arch at Sassoon Gallery, Peckham-Rye to paint a mural over one week inspired by a Victorian cult that used to meet under railway arches. The result was Holy Sh!t: Visions of the Walworth Jumpers.

Happily brainwashed in our own paint fumes, we managed to pull it off by the sabbath, just in time for my Start Your Own Cult workshop and the final cult party.

There should be an animated video of the whole process somewhere, so I’ll put it up when we get it!

The Static Revolter #2 is the second issue of a serialized publication containing comic stories and other things by Hurk and Kevin Ward.

Issue two is A4 size, 40 pages, with black and white interiors and 3-colour screen-printed cover, hand-bound and stamped in a numbered edition of 100.
